Takeaway orders, from ticket to pickup

Every order arrives already paid through Mercado Pago, chimes, and its ticket prints itself. From the same screen you mark it ready, let the customer know and hand it over.

Short answer

Restoman's counter is the screen for takeaway orders, built for a computer with a thermal printer. Paid orders arrive with a chime, the ticket prints on its own and each order moves through three columns: In the kitchen, Ready for pickup and Scheduled. When you click Ready, the customer gets a notice.

01

Why takeaway orders need a screen of their own

A takeaway order that comes in one way and gets written down another ends up as the wrong ticket, a customer waiting without knowing if it's ready, or an order nobody charged for. On the counter it all happens in one place, with the payment already made.

  1. 01 Paid orders only An order shows up once Mercado Pago approves the payment, never before: the kitchen never makes anything that isn't paid for.
  2. 02 The ticket prints itself The computer that prints puts out the ticket as soon as the order arrives, and the kitchen works from the paper.
  3. 03 Customers know when to come When you click Ready, the customer gets a notice on their phone or by email, so nobody has to call them.

02

How it works during service

Each order is a card with its number, the customer's name, what they ordered and the total. It moves to the next column with one click, and anyone on the team working at the location can move it.

  1. 01 Ready and Undo "Ready" moves it to Ready for pickup. If you got it wrong, "Undo" sends it back to the kitchen for 10 seconds.
  2. 02 I'm here If the customer taps that they've arrived, the counter chimes once and their order jumps to the top, with "Arrived 2 min ago".
  3. 03 Picked up When the customer collects it, "Picked up" takes it off the screen and into the history.
  4. 04 Scheduled Orders for later wait in their own column and their ticket prints itself a while before pickup; "Print now" sends it early.

03

What happens when something goes wrong

A printer out of paper, a swamped kitchen or an order you can't make are part of any busy night. The counter has a way out for each, without losing the order.

  1. 01 Not printed If a ticket never reached the printer, the order is flagged and a notice shows at the top. "Reprint" sends it again; "It printed" if it came out anyway.
  2. 02 Pause orders For 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour or until you resume them. The menu stays up and customers see that orders are paused.
  3. 03 Cancel and refund Pick a reason and Mercado Pago refunds the customer in full, tip included. If the ticket had already printed, a "CANCELED" slip prints too.
  4. 04 History "History" lists orders by day and status, each with its details: items, timeline, payment and refunds.
