Integration

Mercado Pago integration

Guests pay with Mercado Pago the moment they order, from their phone. The money goes straight to your business's account, and the kitchen only gets orders that are already paid.

Short answer

Restoman connects to the business's Mercado Pago account: guests pay for their order with Mercado Pago as they place it, the money goes straight to that account, and the order reaches the kitchen only once the payment is approved. If an order has to be canceled, the refund goes out from Restoman, to the same account.

What paying with Mercado Pago at order time solves

Charging at the end, at the counter or the table, is where time and money slip away: lines to pay, orders made and never picked up, and a till you rebuild at closing. Charging when the order is placed cuts all of that.

  1. 01 Paid before it's cooked The kitchen sees an order once Mercado Pago approved the payment, never before.
  2. 02 Money straight to your account Every payment goes into the business's Mercado Pago account. Restoman never touches or holds it.
  3. 03 No line to pay Guests pay from their phone, with whatever they have in Mercado Pago.
  4. 04 Every payment with its order Each payment stays tied to its order, its number and its location, to check without spreadsheets.

02

How it works day to day

The owner connects the business's account once, from Payments in the dashboard. From then on, every location that takes takeaway orders gets paid into that account.

  1. 01 Guests pay as they order They build the order on the menu, tap Pay and finish in Mercado Pago, then land back on their order's page.
  2. 02 The order arrives paid Once the payment is approved, the order gets its number and shows up at the counter and in the kitchen.
  3. 03 Refunds from the counter If a paid order has to be canceled, "Cancel and refund" sends the full payment back to the guest's account.
  4. 04 If something fails, you see it A refund Mercado Pago turns down stays flagged on the order, with "Retry the refund".

03

What Restoman does so no payment gets lost

A lot happens between the guest's phone, Mercado Pago and the kitchen: slow payments, notices that arrive twice, guests who close the tab. Restoman confirms every payment with Mercado Pago before treating an order as paid.

  1. 01 Every payment, checked with Mercado Pago Restoman doesn't trust the notice: it asks Mercado Pago for the payment's status before moving the order.
  2. 02 No order is charged twice If the same order gets paid twice, the second payment is refunded on its own.
  3. 03 Late payments A payment approved after its order expired is refunded on its own, without anyone having to notice.

04

When it makes sense

Paying at order time helps most where guests don't sit and wait for the check: takeaway, bars and busy counters.

  1. 01 Takeaway Guests order and pay from their phone, and come by when it's ready.
  2. 02 Busy locations With no line to pay, the counter hands orders over instead of taking money.
  3. 03 Businesses with several locations One business account gets paid at all its locations, each payment with its own.
