- Coming soon

Ask your assistant what sold least this month or what's sold out, and get an answer from what Restoman knows about your business. It's on the way; Restoman's Guide can already be read over MCP.

**Short answer:** Restoman's MCP server will let your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant that supports MCP) read what Restoman knows about your business with your role's permissions, and every change it makes will show up in the activity log under its name. It isn't available yet. What works today is the Guide's MCP server, at https://docs.restoman.com.ar/mcp, open and read-only, plus a markdown version of every public page.

## 01. What Restoman's MCP server is

MCP is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to other systems. With Restoman's server, your assistant will look things up in your business instead of you pasting the numbers in.

- **Questions in your own words.** What sold least this month, what's sold out, how tonight is going: the assistant finds the answer in Restoman.
- **With your role's permissions.** The assistant sees and does what you can in the dashboard, never more. If your role can't see sales, neither can the assistant.
- **Every change in the activity log.** Whatever the assistant changes shows up in the business's activity log under your name and its own, like "Lucía via Claude".
- **One business per connection.** When you connect it, you choose which business it can reach and what it may do. By default, read only.

## 02. How it will work (coming soon)

You connect it yourself, from your assistant, by signing in with your Restoman account and approving what it may do. Questions come first, changes after.

- **Reading first.** Each location's menu and what's sold out, today's orders, and sales by day, by dish and by location.
- **Then selling out and bringing back.** "Mark the milanesa sold out in Palermo until tomorrow", and it's done just as if you had marked it in the dashboard.
- **Anything involving money takes two steps.** A change that touches money never happens in one go: the assistant prepares it and you confirm it.
- **Disconnect it whenever you like.** You'll be able to take an assistant's access away from the dashboard at any time.

## 03. What already works today

Restoman can already be read by assistants and search engines. The Guide answers over MCP, and every public page has a plain-text version.

- **The Guide over MCP.** At https://docs.restoman.com.ar/mcp, with no account and read-only: search_docs searches the guides and get_doc returns a whole one, in Spanish or English.
- **Every page in markdown.** This site's pages and the Guide's have a markdown version, at the same address ending in .md, or by asking for it with Accept: text/markdown.
- **An llms.txt on every site.** This site, the Guide and the menus each publish an llms.txt that tells an assistant what's there and where to read it.

## 04. What Restoman looks after

An assistant connected to your business has to be as trustworthy as someone on your team. These rules are part of the design from day one.

- **Never more than your role.** Every question and every change goes through the same permissions as the dashboard. What you choose when connecting it only narrows that.
- **What guests write is data.** Order notes, names and reviews reach the assistant marked as guest text, never as instructions.
- **No sensitive data.** The assistant never gets passwords, keys, or ID or tax numbers.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I connect my restaurant to an assistant yet?

Not yet: Restoman's MCP server is on the way. Today you can connect your assistant to the Guide, which explains how every part of Restoman works.

### What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol, an open standard for AI assistants to connect to other systems. Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants use it to add sources of information and tools.

### Can the assistant do more than I can?

No. It will have your role's permissions in that business, and only the ones you approve when connecting it. If your role can't cancel orders, neither can the assistant.

### Does the Guide's MCP server see my business's data?

No. The Guide's MCP server only holds Restoman's guides: it's open, needs no account and can't change anything.

### Which assistants will it work with?

Those that connect to remote MCP servers, like Claude and ChatGPT. Restoman doesn't depend on any one assistant.

### How do I know what the assistant did?

Every change will show up in the business's activity log with the person's name and the assistant's, like any other change made by the team.
