Every order arrives already paid through Mercado Pago, chimes, and its ticket prints itself. From the same screen you mark it ready, let the customer know and hand it over.

**Short answer:** Restoman's counter is the screen for takeaway orders, built for a computer with a thermal printer. Paid orders arrive with a chime, the ticket prints on its own and each order moves through three columns: In the kitchen, Ready for pickup and Scheduled. When you click Ready, the customer gets a notice.

## 01. Why takeaway orders need a screen of their own

A takeaway order that comes in one way and gets written down another ends up as the wrong ticket, a customer waiting without knowing if it's ready, or an order nobody charged for. On the counter it all happens in one place, with the payment already made.

- **Paid orders only.** An order shows up once Mercado Pago approves the payment, never before: the kitchen never makes anything that isn't paid for.
- **The ticket prints itself.** The computer that prints puts out the ticket as soon as the order arrives, and the kitchen works from the paper.
- **Customers know when to come.** When you click Ready, the customer gets a notice on their phone or by email, so nobody has to call them.

## 02. How it works during service

Each order is a card with its number, the customer's name, what they ordered and the total. It moves to the next column with one click, and anyone on the team working at the location can move it.

- **Ready and Undo.** "Ready" moves it to Ready for pickup. If you got it wrong, "Undo" sends it back to the kitchen for 10 seconds.
- **I'm here.** If the customer taps that they've arrived, the counter chimes once and their order jumps to the top, with "Arrived 2 min ago".
- **Picked up.** When the customer collects it, "Picked up" takes it off the screen and into the history.
- **Scheduled.** Orders for later wait in their own column and their ticket prints itself a while before pickup; "Print now" sends it early.

## 03. What happens when something goes wrong

A printer out of paper, a swamped kitchen or an order you can't make are part of any busy night. The counter has a way out for each, without losing the order.

- **Not printed.** If a ticket never reached the printer, the order is flagged and a notice shows at the top. "Reprint" sends it again; "It printed" if it came out anyway.
- **Pause orders.** For 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour or until you resume them. The menu stays up and customers see that orders are paused.
- **Cancel and refund.** Pick a reason and Mercado Pago refunds the customer in full, tip included. If the ticket had already printed, a "CANCELED" slip prints too.
- **History.** "History" lists orders by day and status, each with its details: items, timeline, payment and refunds.

## And also

- **With a chime.** Every paid order makes a sound, even while you're busy with a customer.
- **Tickets print themselves.** On the computer you choose to print, on an 80 mm thermal printer.
- **Nothing gets lost.** If the counter was closed, opening it prints the tickets it missed.
- **Pause for a while.** Stop new orders when the kitchen can't keep up.

## Frequently asked questions

### What do I need for tickets to print on their own?

A computer with an 80 mm thermal printer and Chrome set up to print directly. On the counter you turn on "This computer prints the tickets" and leave the page open through the shift.

### Can I have the counter open on more than one screen?

Yes. They all show the same orders, but only the computer with printing turned on prints by itself. From the others, Reprint and Print now use their own printer.

### How does the customer find out their order is ready?

When you click Ready they get a notice on their phone, if they turned notices on when ordering, and an email if they left their address. The email waits a few seconds in case you click Undo.

### What happens if I cancel an order?

Mercado Pago refunds the customer in full, tip included; it can take a few days to show up. If the refund fails, the order says so and you can retry it from its details.

### Who can use the counter?

Anyone who works at the location can see it. Ready, Picked up and reprinting are open to staff, servers, cashiers, the manager, admins and the owner. Cashiers and up can pause; cancel and refund is for the manager, admins, the owner and custom roles with that permission.
