# A QR code on every table, arranged by section > Arrange your tables by section, print a QR code for each, six to an A4 sheet, and regenerate one if it walks off. Guests scan one and open the location's menu, with their table showing. **Short answer:** In Restoman every table has its own QR code: guests scan it with the camera and open the location's menu knowing which table they're at. Tables are grouped by section, codes print six to an A4 sheet, and a code can be regenerated if someone walks off with it. Today, ordering from the table is for pickup at the counter; ordering to the table is coming soon. ## 01. Why keep your tables in the system One generic QR code at the door says nothing about where anyone is sitting, and a printed code someone took home works forever. With one code per table, every scan knows which table it came from, and every code can be shut off. - **Each table, its own code.** The QR code carries the table's code, not its number: renumbering a table doesn't change the code stuck on it. - **The location's menu, at that table.** Guests scan and see the location's menu with their table at the top, no app to download. - **A code you can cut off.** If a code got lost or copied, regenerate it and the printed one stops working at once. ## 02. How you set up the floor It opens with "Tables and QR" in the sidebar, with the location chosen at the top. The owner, the admins and the location's manager set it up. - **Sections.** "+ Section" adds one, like Dining room or Patio. Delete a section and its tables move to "No section", their codes still working. - **Many tables at once.** Under "Add tables", From "1" To "20" creates all twenty, with their seats and section. Up to 100 at a time. - **Six codes to a sheet.** "Print" opens an A4 sheet with six codes, each with the business's logo or name and the table. "Print every QR" prints the whole location's. - **Regenerate QR.** Gives the table a new code. The owner, the admins and the manager can do it, but Restoman support can't. ## 03. What happens when a guest scans The code opens the location's menu with the table showing. From there, guests browse, build their order and pay from their phone. - **Order here, pick it up at the counter.** Today orders are takeaway: guests pay with Mercado Pago from the table and pick the order up at the counter when it's ready. - **Tables that don't take orders.** With "Takes orders" off, that table's code shows the menu but doesn't let guests order. - **Archived tables.** Archiving a table removes it and its code stops working. "Reactivate" brings it back. - **Ordering to the table, coming soon.** Orders brought to the table, with the server's iPad, aren't here yet: today they're picked up at the counter. ## And also - **A code per table.** Every scan knows which table it came from. - **Six to an A4 sheet.** Ready to print, cut and stick. - **Regenerated in a tap.** A lost code stops working at once. - **By section.** Dining room, patio or terrace, in the order you like. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can guests order to their table? Not yet. Today the code opens the menu at that table and guests order and pay from their phone, for pickup at the counter. Ordering to the table is coming soon. ### What if someone takes a QR code? Tap "Regenerate QR" on that table: the printed code stops working at once. Then print the new one and stick it on. ### If I renumber a table, do I have to reprint its code? No. The code carries the table's own code, not its number, so it keeps working. ### Can I turn off ordering at one table? Yes. With "Takes orders" off, its code still shows the menu but doesn't let guests order. ### Who can change the tables? Everyone who works at the location sees them, except the kitchen.
